Abstract

This Act makes provision in relation to the granting of loans to “owners, i.e. means any person for the time being legally charged with the cultivation, or the receipt of the rents and profits, of any land, including life tenants, guardians, trustees and executors but not persons appointed by any court to take charge of, manage and cultivate, or receive the rents and profits of, land in Barbados. Loans may be granted for: (a) the purpose of carrying on the general cultivation and management of sugar plantations and all other real estate or property; (b) the purchase of stock and manure and other necessaries; (c) paying taxes; and (d) other specified expenses.
