Abstract This Act officially ratifies the provisions of the Agreement on port state measures to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing. The objective of the Agreement is to prevent, deter and eliminate IUU fishing through the implementation of effective port State measures, and thereby to ensure the long-term conservation and sustainable use of living marine resources and marine ecosystems. This Agreement shall apply to fishing conducted in marine areas that is illegal, unreported or unregulated, as defined in Article 1(e) of this Agreement, and to fishing related activities in support of such fishing.
