Abstract

An Agreement to regulate the establishment and maintenance of a National Park in the Danube-Auen. It defines at the outset its purposes, namely to protect the beauty of the area, and to preserve and promote its flora and fauna; moreover, its aim is also to obtain international recognition by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources. Article 2 deals with zoning and division of the ground, and with protective measures and prohibitions related to hunting. The indemnification of landowners is governed by article 7. Finally, the Law sets out the administrative organization of the national park. The enforcement of this Agreement is entrusted to the Administration of National Parks of Austria. The Agreement consists of 14 articles and 3 Annexes.
