The Maritime and Water Affairs Bureau is a public department with administrative autonomy. It shall be responsible for exercising the powers of the maritime authority, promoting the development of maritime activities, and coordinating and managing water resources. The duties of the Maritime and Water Affairs Bureau include: Ensure maritime safety, supervise and control maritime activities; Prevent maritime pollution and implement marine environmental protection measures; Responsible for the registration of ships and the registration of seafarers and issuance of certifications; Issuing licenses to engage in maritime and port activities; Coordinate port affairs Promote the development of fishery-related activities; Responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining ships; Coordinate the supply of drinking water, reclaimed water and raw water ; Promote the development and rational use of water resources, publicize and promote water-saving activities move; Research and formulate water resources management policies, systems and measures; Promote the implementation of maritime-related international law instruments in the Macao Special Administrative Region; etc. Full text Portuguese/Chinese Website images.io.gov.mo
