Abstract

These Measures are formulated in order to enhance the protection and management of ancient wood (trees), which locate in urban area and scenic spots and historical sites. The ancient wood (trees) are classified in two grade, 'first class' and 'second class' (article 4). The construction administration department of State Council is entitled as the responsible authority of the management and protection of ancient wood (trees) nationally (article 5). Article 6 establishes the registration system. Article 11 prohibits the selling or transfer of collective or private owned ancient wood (trees) before the evaluation from administration department.
