Abstract

The Act makes provision for the adjudication and registration of rights and interests in land in areas declared to be adjudication area by the Minister. Land shall be adjudicated by an Adjudication Officer appointed by the Minister. The Minister shall also appoint Demarcation Officers, Recording Officers and Survey Officers. The Act sets out the principles and procedure of adjudication. Except with the consent in writing of the Adjudication Officer, no action concerning land or any interest in land in an adjudication section shall be begun in any civil court until proceedings under this Act with regard to such land or interest have been completed. The Act also provides for appeal against decisions of an Adjudication Officer.
