Abstract Modifications concern the scope of the Act (sect. 1), the application sphere of the Act (sect. 2) and conditions for importation of animals and goods from third countries (sect. 5). The scope of the Act is to prevent spreading of animal diseases through animals or products of animal origin imported in Finland from countries outside the European Community. The provision regarding the application sphere of the Act is amended so as to include a reference to the newly introduced Animal Feed Act (No. 396 of 1998).
