Abstract This Act provides for securing the national energy supply through the rapid integration of liquefied natural gas into the existing transmission system. This Act shall apply in stationary floating and land-based plants for the import, unloading, storage and re-evaporation of liquefied natural gas, lines used to connect plants, water construction and Steam or hot water pipelines necessary for the operation of the plants. Articles 4 to 8 respectively refer to the exceptions to the environmental impact assessment, provisions for the application of the Federal Immission Control Act and the Industrial Sewage Treatment Plant Approval and Monitoring Ordinance, provisions for the application of the Federal Nature Protection Act, provisions for the application of the Water Resources Act and provisions for the application of the Energy Industry Act. Articles 4, 5 and 9 of the Act implement various EU Regulations related to environmental impact assessment for certain public and private projects, industrial emissions, the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances and other related matters.
