Abstract

The present Act establishes rules to allow orderly organization of the production and marketing of agricultural and food products and the marketing of fish products and of wild fur, whether or not such activities are carried on for purposes of sale. In this connexion a body is established under the name “Régie des marchés agricoles et alimentaires du Québec”. The functions of the Régie are to foster the efficient and orderly marketing of agricultural and food products, the development of harmonious relations between the various intervenors, the settlement of problems arising in connection with the production and marketing of such products, taking into account the interests of consumers and the protection of the public interest. The text consists of 5 Titles as follows: Scope (I); Régie des marchés agricoles et alimentaires du Québec (II); Marketing of agricultural products (III); Marketing of fish products (IV); Marketing of wild fur (IV.01); Proceedings before the administrative tribunal of Québec (IV.1); Penal provisions (V).
