In particular, it makes various provisions relating to financing of farms. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein, such as “agriculture”, “designated production”, “designated area”, “natural disaster”, “certificate”, “producer”, “loan”, “purpose of loan”, “credit”, “Bureau” (Office du crédit agricole du Québec). Section 3 establishes that the loans granted under this Act are intended to enable the producer to meet the expenses inherent in the carrying out of a programme of conversion of agricultural operations in accordance with the regulations.
