Abstract

This Act aims at the enhancement of animal production, to promote the quality of animals for breeding and to prevent diseases affecting animals. For these purposes the Government shall issue regulations relative to the control of livestock and other animals which are kept by human beings and for the organization of the livestock sector. The Government shall also develop rules relative to artificial insemination and the production of semen. Section 5 concerns the control over slaughter practices. Certain functions are delegated under section 6 to the State Agricultural Agency.
