Abstract The purpose of this Act is to reduce the amount of waste from electrical and electronic equipment and to ensure appropriate level of collection, reuse and recycling of spent equipment. This Act establishes requirements for electrical and electronic equipment and rules of proceedings with spent equipment in the way protecting health and life of people and protecting the environment according to the rule of sustainable development. These provisions apply to the equipment produced and used on the territory of Poland or imported from other countries but do not apply to military equipment or radioactive wastes. This Act is composed of 13 Sections and three Annexes.
