Abstract The Act is composed of eight Sections: (1) General provisions; (2) Characteristic of organs; (3) Procedural provisions; (4) Claims protection; (5) Wastes return; (6) Border checkpoints and customs; (7) Criminal provisions; (8) Transitional and final provisions. International turnover of wastes means import to Poland, export from Poland or transit of wastes of foreign origin through the territory of Poland. The General Inspector of the Environment is entitled to take decisions, make information available and provide advices on export, import or transfer of wastes. The provincial inspector of the environment shall control the regularity of wastes management, particularly in places of their origin or destination.
