Abstract This Act applies for coordination of different space requirements and balancing the conflicts that arise at the respective planning level. The Act sets guiding principles in completing the task for a sustainable spatial development which meet the social and economic demands and has harmony with its ecological functions. The binding effects of spatial requirements are taken by public bodies and authorities. The Spatial planing is issued at Federal stage and verifies requirements for different states in Germany and for German exclusive economic zone. Fundamental spatial planning issues should be handled by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development and regional planning are discussed in the Ministerial Conference for Regional Planning.
