It shall apply to the following types of damages: Damages to protected species and habitats as described section 5a of the Nature Conservation Act; considerable pollution of a water body as considered in section 84 of th Environment Act; substantially harmful change in water bodies or groudwater referred to in section 6 of Chapter 14 of the Water Act. Remediation shall be decided by the authorities indicated in the Acts mentioned above or the Gene Technology Act. The obligation to prevent damages is also mentioned in those Act and the Act on the transportation of dangerous goods. The Act describes remedial measure and how remedial measures are to be selected by the appropriate authority. Measures may also be undertaken directly by an authority.
