Abstract

The provisions of this Law prescribe various measures for the conservation of aquatic animals and plants. Measures may be taken in respect of the following: Restrictions on catching in general, on fishing methods, total allowable catch, number of licensed vessels, etc. (Chap. II, sect. 1); Import Quarantine of aquatic animals (sect. 1-2) protected water surfaces (sect. 2); protection of anadromous fish (sect. 3); research of fishery resources (Chap. III); national subsidies (Chap. IV). Chapter VI contains penal provisions.
