This Act enters into force on 15 December 2009.
Abstract

This Act, which is composed of 30 articles and four Annexes, lays down measures, procedures and guidance to prevent or reduce any adverse effects on the environment, in particular water, air, soil, fauna and flora and landscape, and any resultant risks to human health, brought about as a result of the management of waste from the extractive industries. Therefore, the Act establishes: (a) rights and obligations of legal and physical persons responsible for the management of extractive waste, including temporary storage of waste; (b) the competence of state administration bodies at the management of waste from extractive industries; liability for violation of obligations established by this Act.
