This Act enters into force on 1 January 2020.
Abstract

This Act, which is composed of 15 articles, lays down: (1) rules for labeling of food and animal feed as free of genetically modified organisms, including types of such food and animal feed, conditions and the way of labeling; (2) obligations of entities placing food or feed labeled as GMO free on the market; (3) rules for checking compliance with the provisions of the present Act; (4) principles of liability for violation of the provisions established by this Act. Art. 3 specifies which food of animal or plant origin, products of animal origin, and which animal feed can be recognized as GMO free. Labeling of products as GMO free is not obligatory.
