The Act enters into force on 1 January 2001.
Abstract

The Act, which is composed of 133 articles divided into 25 chapters, sets out the basic legsialtive framework for the protection of public health. It establishes provisions with respect to food safety and hygiene, water supply, sewerage, sanitation and pollution prevention. Detailed provisions regard the construction and maintenance of water supply and drainage systems.
