The Act requires the federal states to designate area targets for the expansion of onshore wind energy. In each federal state a percentage of the state area shall be designed for the onshore wind energy as is verified in Appendix 1. The Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection shall determine by June 2024 whether and which federal states have fulfilled their obligation under this Act.
