Abstract The present Act, which is composed of 50 Paragraphs and one Annex, establishes provisions on border veterinary control of animals imported from third countries to the territories specified in the Annex (the European Union territories). All products and animals imported from third countries shall be subjected to border veterinary inspections. A person responsible for the import shall inform an official veterinarian from the border checkpoint about the transfer.
