These persons may acquire property in Finland only if the Ministry of Defence grants a permit for the acquisition. Detailed rules on the content of the application for a permit may be issued by decree of the Government. Permits for the acquisition of a property may be granted if the acquisition is not deemed to make the organization of the country's defence, supervision and safeguarding of the territorial integrity or security of the border guard, border security or emergency preparedness difficult. The Ministry of Defence shall request a statement on the application by the authority within whose area of responsibility the data can be affected by the property acquisition, unless it is obviously unnecessary to request a statement.
