Abstract

This Act is composed of 7 parts mainly regulating the nuclear and radioactive activities. Part 1 provides some general provisions. Article 5 prohibits the development, manufacture, possession or transfer, use of nuclear weapons or nuclear explosive devices or offer any assistance to carry out any of these acts. This Act bans the import or export any radioactive waste or nuclear fuel consumed , as well as the dumping of any of it in the sea. Part II sets forth the main duties of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in handling all the business, supervise, and monitor all functions related to nuclear and radiological activities as well as all licensing issues. Part III provides for the general rules of tenure and trading licenses. Part IV is concerned with nuclear and radioactive emergencies. Part V provides for measures of nuclear security and nuclear safeguards in cases of nuclear damage. Part VI is concerned with penalties in cases of any violations of the provisions of this act.
