Its goal is to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases and their transmission to the population, and to prevent such diseases from being introduced into Norway or carried from Norway to other countries. The Act shall ensure that health authorities and other authorities implement the necessary infection prevention measures and coordinate their activities.
