Abstract This act establishes a territorial sea of the Republic of Yemen of twelve nautical miles, defines its EEZ and regulates shipping in the territorial waters of Yemen. It also defines the Continental Shelf of Yemen, regulates the exploration, exploitation and management of the natural resources on the maritime area, provides for the application of civil and penal law and for the prosecution of offences. The Marine Boundaries of Yemen are specified in article 17. All the provisions of this Act are applicable to the territory of the islands of the Republic.
