This Act is especially directed to young farmers under 40 years of age. Setting-up aid to young farmers under 40 years of age shall be granted on condition that: (a) the young farmer is established as head of the holding, (b) sets up as a farmer practising farming as his main occupation or begins, after having set up as a part-time farmer, to practise farming as his main occupation. (c) The occupational qualifications of the young farmer are at a satisfactory level at the time of his setting up or at the latest two years thereafter; (d) the holding requires a volume of work equivalent to at least one ULU, which must be achieved at the latest two years after the setting up (art. 2) Regions in granting aid shall give priority to mountain and less-favoured areas.
