Abstract

This Act amends various sections of the Environment Protection Act in relation with the carrying into effect of rules contained in the Directive 2001/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment of the effects of certain plans and programmes on the environment. The Act concerns the consideration of the likely significant effects on the environment of specified public development plans. The Regulations prescribe procedures and contents of environmental reporting, monitoring and assessment in relation to each type of plan.
