Abstract This Act, which is composed of 27 articles and two Annexes, establishes: (a) legal protection of plant varieties; (b) conditions of granting breeding certificate of plant variety; (c) rights and obligations of persons in the area of legal protection plant varieties; (d) the competence of state administration in the area of legal protection plant varieties; (e) penalties for violation of the obligations established by this Act and separate regulations. This Act applies to varieties of all kinds and genera of plants, including hybrids between genera or plant varieties. This Act does not apply to industrial production microorganisms, biotechnological procedures and products obtained with their assistance if they are patentable.
