This Act enters into force on 14 January 2017.
Abstract

This Act establishes the national system for the protection of the environment, which includes the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) and the regional and provincial agencies for environmental protection. The aim is to ensure sustainable development, preserve natural resources and contribute to reducing soil degradation, as well as promoting air quality. The Act is based upon the polluter pays principle.
