This Act enters into force on 1 July 2018.
Abstract

This Act, which is composed of 19 articles, lays down: (a) rights and obligations of operators who place timber and timber products on the internal market; (b rights and obligations of traders; (c) rights and obligations of transporters of timber and timber products; (d) duties of the monitoring organization; (e) the competence of the state administration bodies in the field of timber and timber products on the internal market; (f) offenses concerning placing timber and timber products on the internal market. The aim is to support the fight against illegal logging and related trade. As a general rule, the placing on the market of illegally harvested timber or products derived from such timber shall be prohibited. Operators shall exercise due diligence when placing timber or timber products on the market.
