Different sections of this Act come into force on different dates as provided for in Article 11.
Abstract

This Act consists of 11 Articles and in Article 1 it amends and implements provisions of the HNS Convention 2010 on liability and compensation for damages caused by spillage of hazardous and noxious substances during maritime transportation. The amendments provide for liability for compensation of damages that may occur during loading and unloading of ships cargo, and the obligation to maintain insurance and other financial security. Article 2 to Article 9 refers to amendments made to different regulations as the Oil Damage Act Shipping Law; the Commercial Code; the Law on International Conventions of November 29, 1969; the Structural Reform of the Federal Fee Law; the Maritime Tasks Act; the Oil Liability Certificate Ordinance and further changes in the Oil Obligation Insurance Certificate regulation. Article 10 refers to publication permission and Article 11 to entry into force.
