Abstract

This Act concerns the allocation of lands of the Public Domain in leasehold and simple lease. It sets out the rights and duties of a holder of a lease and provides for cancellation of the lease in case the land is required for public purposes. The leaseholder has free disposal of all trees and crops, whether or not planted by himself, unless expressly provided otherwise in the leasehold decision, and subject to the payment of a fee to be determined by the President for felling for the felling of valuable wood trees for purposes other than own use on site. In the event that wood is worked on the site - except for own use on site - or balata or other forest products are exploited, the leaseholder is subject to the general levies and provisions that apply to the conduct of those businesses on domain land, subject to exemption from the payment of a separate concession fee.
