This Act regulates the planting of sheltering fences made out of trees of at least seven in a row and not more than 10 metres width. The sheltering fences shall be planted so as to protect agricultural crop, horticultural produce or fruit trees from excessive wind. The Act lays down rules regarding planting and maintenance of trees and provides for financial support for collective and individual planting to be granted by the Joint Committee for Sheltering Fences.
