Abstract This Act lays down some amendments to the Veterinary Act, pursuant to European Community legislation. The amended provisions are those concerning (i) conditions of veterinary care related to animal breeding, (ii) rights and duties of individuals and legal persons who carry out activities in the animal breeding sector, and (iii) State authorities competent in the veterinary health sector. In particular, the Act sets out new provisions on relocation of animals, prevention of infectious diseases, epizootiological surveillance system and veterinary requirements for the importation, exportation and transit of animal products.
