Abstract

The present Act introduces some amendments to the Federal Maritime Jurisdiction Act in its consolidated version of 26 July 2002 (BGBl. I p. 2876). In particular, the Act adds, inter alia, article 7a establishing that ship equipment may be installed only if it complies with certain rules; therefore, it empowers the Federal Minister for Traffic, Construction and Urban Development to issue - even without the approval of the Bundesrat - Ordinances concerning ship equipment.
