Abstract This Act lays down provisions concerning prevention of sea from polluting substances like oil and harmful liquid substances defined in Annexes I and II to Marpol Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Wastes. In particular, the present Act establishes penal provisions for removing from vessels polluting substances in the amount or form which may cause deterioration of water quality, threat to life or health of human or destruction of marine fauna and flora.
