Abstract

The Act partly amends the Act on Animal keeping - in particular the authorization of establishing a Veterinary Fund and the delegation of power competencies for identifying documents related to animals. The Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries establishes a Veterinary Fund responsible for the monitoring and control of animal diseases and zoonosis, administrative and legal issues – with the EU co-financing. This Fund shall be managed by a board of at least three members: the Chief Veterinary Officer, veterinarians and the chairman of the board. The board shall be appointed for a period of four years and board members may be re-appointed. The Minister shall appoint other members for public representation and by recommendation of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.
