All other sections enter into force on 1 January 2022. Abstract The present Act establishes the Swedish Institute for Human Rights. The Institute shall promote the safeguarding of human rights in Sweden, based on: 1. the form of government, the Freedom of the Press Ordinance and the Basic Law on Freedom of Expression; 2. the European Convention on Human Rights; 3. the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union; and 4. other binding obligations on Sweden under international law in the field of human rights.
