In particular, the purposes of the Accord are: a) to transfer to Yukon the legislative authority in relation to the administration and control of onshore Oil and Gas resources; b) to provide that Yukon is a principal beneficiary of Resource Revenues from Oil and Gas resources in the Onshore; c) to provide for the immediate establishment of a Yukon Oil and Gas management regime in the Onshore; d) to provide for an Onshore Oil and Gas legislative regime; e) to provide full and fair opportunity for residents corporations and communities of the Yukon Territory and Canadians in general to compete for economic benefits arising from Oil and Gas activities.
