An abattoir means any place used for the slaughter of animals for human consumption. The Minister may on the recommendation of the director of the department of agriculture and livestock appoint any person to be a meat inspector. No application for a certificate for an abattoir shall be approved by the Minister unless and until the Minister is satisfied that the said abattoir complies with the requirements set out in sections 9 to 19 of this Act.
