Abstract This Act amends Abandoned Lands Management Act of 1949. Amendments deal with Section 5 as follows: (i) The Deputy Commissioner may, by an order in writing for sufficient cause, require any tenant or other persons otherwise in possession of abandoned lands or such other property, to vacate any such land or property and place it at his disposal. (ii) The Deputy Commissioner may, eject any person who refuses to vacate any such land or property and for this purpose he may make use of Civil or Military force if necessary. (iii) The Deputy Commissioner may empower any revenue officer not below the rank of a Tehsildar or a Rehabilitation Officer to exercise all or any of the powers under subsections (i) and (ii) of this Section.
