Abstract

Decision directed to Parties

Parties affected by illegal trade in pangolin specimens, including Parties listed in tables 13 and 14 of Annex 3 to document CoP20 Doc. 79.1, are requested to: a) regularly review the measures and activities they are implementing to prevent, detect and address crimes involving pangolins, to ensure that these remain effective and are adapted as may be needed to respond to any newly identified trends; b) strictly implement and, where needed, strengthen their implementation of paragraphs 1 b) and c) of Resolution Conf. 17.10 (Rev. CoP20) on Conservation of and trade in pangolins; c) annually report to the Secretariat on any markets, seizures, legal and illegal trade and breeding operations as per paragraph 4 of Resolution Conf. 17.10 (Rev. CoP20) and on any future pangolin-related Notifications to the Parties; and d) reply to the Notification to the Parties in accordance with Decision 20.174, paragraph a), in a timely and active manner offering new information on pangolin conservation and management.
