Abstract

Decision directed to Secretariat

Subject to the availability of extrabudgetary resources and within the mandate of CITES, the Secretariat shall: 

a) identify relevant activities in the Regional Action Plan for Jaguar Conservation that may be carried out in collaboration with the Secretariat of Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and incorporate them in the existing CITES/CMS joint programme of work; 

b) provide support, upon request, to range States in implementing the Regional Action Plan for Jaguar Conservation on actions and activities in collaboration with relevant existing partners, such as ICCWC, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); and 

c) support the operationalization of Intergovernmental Platform, including the Modular system for monitoring the illegal killing and illicit trade of jaguars.
