The Committee in approving the inscription of this site on the World Heritage List requested the Chinese authorities to envisage the possibility in the future of extending the site to include the historic village of Shol, the Temple of Jokhang as well as the Chakpori Hill. The Delegate of China assured the Committee that the authorities will certainly take into account the recommendations made by the Committee regarding the extension.
