Abstract

The defendant hired others to clean up dead pine trees on the mountain field in a village in Suichang County, Zhejiang Province (locally known as "Longtanwan"), during which 89 live pines were felled indiscriminately. As the defendant’s indiscriminate felling of public welfare forest mountain forests caused loss of forest resources and damage to the ecology and environment, the People's Procuratorate of Suichang County of Zhejiang Province filed a civil public interest action. The Intermediate People's Court of Lishui City of Zhejiang Province granted advance execution, requiring the defendant to complete replanting work in the site according to expert restoration opinions, taking seasonality and climate into account.
