Abstract

The purpose of the present Law is to enforce the directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 2007 establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE). In particular, the Law provides the legal framework for the development and operation of a spatial data infrastructure system in the Land Berlin as part of the national spatial data infrastructure. For the purpose of the present Law, a spatial data infrastructure (SDI) is a framework of spatial data, metadata, users and tools that are interactively connected in order to use spatial data in an efficient and flexible way. The text consists of 15 articles divided into 2 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Requirements for spatial data infrastructure (2).
